Matt brings a rare and powerful combination of legal training and real-world industry experience to Jones Property Law. Before entering law practice, he spent seventeen years in insurance, four years in construction, and two years as a financial advisor—experience that directly informs his approach to estate planning, real estate, and litigation matters.
His background includes managing large teams, adjudicating high-value claims, and making complex decisions under pressure—skills that now translate into thoughtful, efficient, and client-focused legal representation.
Matt is highly relational, responsive, and detail-oriented. He communicates clearly, keeps clients informed, and focuses on delivering thorough representation without overcomplication. His guiding principle is simple: an effective legal plan should be executable, understandable, and aligned with the client’s real priorities.
Whether handling estate planning, real estate transactions, or litigation, Matt’s objective is to reduce uncertainty and provide confidence. Clients often describe a visible sense of relief once a clear plan is in place—a result Matt considers the true measure of success.
Special Needs Estate Planning. Assisted a family with a young special-needs child after a medical emergency revealed the lack of a long-term plan. Designed and implemented a special needs trust, coordinated guardianship planning, and created a detailed transition plan—providing lasting peace of mind to a non-affluent family facing high emotional and practical risk.
Quiet Title / Property Dispute Resolution. Successfully defended a homeowner against adverse possession and quiet title claims that would have prevented her from securing her property. Obtained a favorable judgment allowing her to maintain control of her land and personal safety.
Probate Litigation & Will Invalidity. Represented a client whose sibling had improperly taken control of an estate under a legally defective will. Invalidated the will, secured appointment of the proper personal representative, and ensured fair distribution of estate assets.

Matt is a husband and father of four daughters and approaches both work and life with intensity, humor, and purpose. He is an avid Oklahoma Sooners and OKC Thunder fan, enjoys working out, and is constantly testing how many gym machines he can max out (currently three).
He values family time deeply and is known for embracing his role as the “fun-embarrassing dad,” intentionally turning everyday outings into memorable adventures. His favorite quote—“Leave average to the lazy”—captures his approach to work and life: excellence requires effort, and effort is worth it.
Outside the office, Matt enjoys sports, fitness, reading Lee Child’s Jack Reacher series, and occasionally surprising people with a very solid Donald Duck impression.
